Brett passed his test FRIDAY!! YEA!!!! He did well but is quite sure this will be the hardest class yet, that PLUS the baby coming means alot of pressure for him, and is a huge prayer request..

Its Time for the FLU!!!
So make sure you get yours :) before they run out!! We learned some things about the flu shot and new babies....
1. TRY to get the preservative FREE flu shot, OB offices have them, ask if the shot is preservative free (no mercury etc), if they dont know then its not.... Its just a little better for you and any person expecting a baby.
2. It takes 2 weeks for the shot to actually take affect!!! wow!! Just a heads up for those planning to visit baby Bayer, make sure you get yours 2 weeks before you come visit, or plan on being around her because it takes that long.. wow... Newborns and flu season, umm... probably not the best mix.. lol.. We will be stocking up on hand sanitizer..
3. No Swine Flu for us.. We dont plan on getting the first run swine flu vaccines, just because they are being pushed through the FDA so fast theres not enough testing for us yet (OB said wait) plus the last Swine Flu Vaccine "mess" just doesnt set well with us (and Guillain-Barre syndrome??!!??), I think we'll just see what happens....

Well thats about all- HUGE Brett test today, we are praying that he did well, my OB has been on vacation but theres been some talk of C-section due to her size and umbilical cord around her neck.. we will keep her updated as we know more. Monday we will be going to the perinatal ultrasound place for our final ultrasound and for a better idea of the future chances of birth options.
A friend (Dusty)from Memphis lives here in Cali and is coming to visit this weekend so that will be fun!! Brett is working every saturday now so just keep him in your prayers- the classes are getting more and more difficult, in his words"this is worse than prototype" aka the nuclear power school thats probably the hardest learning program in the Navy .. aka.. its TOUGH
36 weeks 6 days today... Baby Bayer comes soon!!
Love you all

Happy Baby Shower to meeeeeeee Happy Baby Shower to meeeeeeee!!
Thursday night I went to our growth group (solo as Brett had to work and it was supposed to be Girls night and I THOUGHT everyone was going to go get manicures or pedicures) even though I was feeling a little under the weather and SURPRISE!!! all the girls were there (no boys, with one little cute exception- Brodie- the newborn son of Cody and Kate) with tons of food and presents!!! They even jumped up from behind the couch- it was AWESOME!! I love surprises!!
Nikki, the growth group leader, had let on that I really really should come, when I emailed and said I may not because I was feeling sick but man am I glad I did!!!! I am so blessed to have these girls- they barely even know me but went out of their way to make the food and decorate and get us gifts!!! WOW!! If thats not Christ like... well I dont know what is. They are so giving and kind. I was a little bummed about not having a baby shower before the baby- so this was kinda like that cup runneth over thing- more than I could ask.
I got some REALLY cute clothes (Nikki, Katie, Kate, Sarah, Brooke- ok so Im glad Im having a girl because everyone loves to buy for them! LOL), hand made burp cloths with matching swaddle blankets (made by one of the dads!! lol who I call Mr Mom- Brodies dad), a gorgeous hand made blanket (from Sarah- imagine a beautiful, younger, nicer Martha Stuart), DIAPERS yea!!!- thanks Alicia, cute little bow headbands- so no gender confusion..it was great!! We laughed and shared lots of stories- I loved hearing info from Moms, both first timers like me and those who already have a couple "under their belt" so to speak.
Sarah took Pics so I will post some after I get them :) really it was great- total estrogen fest so Brett wasnt too sad he wasnt there LOL.. actually not sad at all?? strange.. lol...
Dr visit went well, baby is fine and kicking and growing!! Shes probably around 6lbs 3oz now?? maybe more.. lol.. love that little chunker!! The white blood cell count is still up which they think is just the infection hiding but the Anemia is gone!! woo!! I still have to take the iron but that makes me feel MUCH better about my spleen and kidney function is good so hopefully no long term damage. My general care Dr will see me as soon as the babys born (hes ready to start fixing me LOL)- he said he will give me a week... lol...
Scotts (Bretts brother), is offically at sea, Ryan (bretts brother) and Dania (cousin) are safely in Peru somewhere, and PaPa is still in the hospital but doing better- they believe this problem will be remedied this time and he will get to come home soon.
My Mom and her finacee may be able to come visit for the birth!!! thats exciting, we are talking about it now but it would be AWESOME to have them here to welcome the baby here... (ooops almost typed her name!!!)
Brett is doing well, but running into some pretty big frustrations, please keep him and work situations in your prayers.....
God is so good!!!
Come visit soon!
Love

A Bayer Deployment..
Today we said goodbye to Scott. He left for his deployment of unknown destinations (he's not sure where he will end up yet), and we will be praying hard. This is him literally leaving out of the front door (notice the M&M's :) ). We will miss him so much but made sure he left with plenty of cookies. Brett got to drive him to his work and drop off his car, its really hard for the big brother to say goodbye to a younger brother, we love him so much but trust God that he will return to us safe and sound.
Grandma and I are doing arts and crafts today, finishing up (more like STARTING) the nursery. Thanks to Sherrie, Bretts Mom for putting up the border, and Bing and Ryan Bretts Dad and Brother for putting together the bookcase... pictures to come once we get done... hopefully BEFORE the baby comes.
Papa, Bretts grandpa is in the hospital, with some medical complications, please pray for him and the Bayer/Theda family as they care for him- Bretts Mom and Grandmother will be spending considerable time with him in the hospital , please pray for their comfort and his as the hospital stays are never fun for anyone.
Well today wasnt super good news, but at least theres some pics :)
love you all
come visit soon

And he HUFFS and he PUFFS but the house of bricks....
Just when I think I pretty much wont have anything else to update about, well life happens :) and a blog is needed.
BABY BAYER
Baby Bayer is doing good, I go to the OB this Friday to do my update, shes getting SOOO BIG now its really really uncomfortable, and unfortunately for Grandma, Brett and Scott, Ive been a little shade more than cranky (sorry guys) due to lack of sleep and pain. Thankfully Im at 35 weeks now so not much longer!!! This weekend Grandma, Brett and I went to San Diego and found our stroller and carseat we wanted!! YEA!! Thanks to a really helpful girl at USA baby we were able to make an informed choice (then went home and ordered it online of course for WAYYYY cheaper). We had alot of fun learning about baby stuff, and Brett really appreciated it, plus it turns out the girls brother in law is a Navy Nuke like Brett and is getting out so we hope to help him with his job search. We also went on the Navy base and saw some HUGE ships and Brett told Grandma all about them which she really enjoyed, we had dessert at Extraordinary Dessert (really fancy desserts as a treat), and finished up at my favorite furniture store where we got an island for the kitchen and a dresser for Gmas closet. woo.. LONG DAY, Sunday, I really (and everyone else) paid for it.

Our travel system!! The Chicco Cortina Keyfit 30... finally we can actually take the baby home.
MY MBA (Masters in Business Adminstration)
Well as of Friday it is done!! I found out Saturday that I actually passed and its official.. I have my MBA. MAB has her MBA. lol... Brett and I joke that I am getting my MRS degree, MBA degree and MOM degree all in one year.. Very funny..
The MEMPHIS HOUSE
Well we got our insurance estimate today and the GRAND TOTAL is... (drumroll please).....
$63,000 approximately
WOW!! Can you believe it?? Not too mention the additional $20,000 it cost to rip all the rotted stuff out... So thankful my husband got USAA and was diligent about paying homeowners insurance.... Thank you Jesus....The big praise is, they will cover 4 months mortgage for loss of use... God is AWESOME!! We were so worried about not being able to make ends meet with the new baby, our rent and bills, PLUS a mortgage in Memphis that we couldn't cover by renting out the house, 4 months will help alot, even though they think the repairs will take longer, I am still very thankful. The PRAYERS HELP!!!! Now we just have to choose a contractor and get that ball rolling!!! Its going to be a challenge trying to coordinate everything, pick out wall cover, stain, floor coverings, rebuild specs, but we are thankful for having the mortgage covered for a little bit.....God is sooo Good!!
Well thats about it (that I will bore ya with for today), Bretts brother Scott deploys Wednesday so please pray for him as he prepares mentally and physically. He came back from Italy with a nasty rash that seems to be slowly clearing up with medication, I would really like to see a big improvement before he goes so he can get the right medicene just in case the boat he will be on doesnt have it. Please keep him in your prayers as well.
Ryan (Bretts other brother) and Dania (Bretts cousin), are currently in Peru traveling all around having fun, seeing sights, and doing mission work :) I cant wait to hear their stories and hope they will have a safe journey, keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well if you can, in Ryans words "traveling can be stressful sometimes."
Grandma Myers seems to be having fun, I had to make her not cook for a day because our refrigerator was overflowing (a good problem), and she about doesnt know what to do!! LOL.. We are going to San Diego in a little bit to get some stain for our island (they forgot to tell us we would need that) and do a hospital tour.
COME VISIT SOON!!!! We love you and please let us know if theres anything we can pray for!!
hugs and kisses
Brett, Michelle, Grandma Myers, and Scott
P.S. My friend Sara Antonia, in memphis- her brother had a motorcycle accident last weekend, his name is Ryan, he broke quite a few bones and is looking at a long recovery (thank God his brain and spine were protected) we're praying hard for their family if you want to join along.

Freebie Day!!!
Thursday, September 3, 2009
My cup runneth over....
Good things happening here- I am out of the hospital and recovering. I was REALLY tired the first day but am slowly recovering my energy, the anemia thing probably has something to do with it. I will see both my OB and primary care physician tomorrow for follow ups and my regular OB visit to make sure everythings on track. The last time I went the baby bump was measuring a little small but since they ultrasounds show her growing ok then they arent too concerned. I am hoping that I measure a little better this time though :) and have another ultrasound next week to check on baby Bayers stomach and measure her again. Brett and I have alot of fun watching her poke her little elbow out of my stomach- its so weird!!!
Grandma Myers comes Saturday!! We are so excited and I know having her here will but Brett at ease, he worries about me being alone all day plus I will have someone to shop and swim with!! There has been a heat wave here and we are missing that AC!!!
**********************CONGRATS TO BRETT!!!************************
He has a HUGE test coming up september 9th and had the practice test at work yesterday- he only missed 1!!!!!! Can you believe it?? He is doing so well!! Praise God for my smart husband. I think he is really eating, sleeping and breathing nuclear energy. Last night he woke up in the middle of the night, set straight up and started talking to me about nuclear power (definately still asleep)! lol he is really REALLY focused....
Please pray for him as he continues to study- the 9th is a big big day!
I am finishing my last class for my MBA and am finding it REALLY hard to focus right now when I take the pain medications, yesterday I only had to take 1 and am hoping to be completely done with them soon. Please pray I will have the mental focus to finish strong- this is probably the most difficult class yet.
My cup runneth over.. really I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, family and friends. Brett made dinner last night and just takes great care of me when Im feeling not so great. He really has a servants heart, which may sound strange to some people who know him but really- he is an awesome provider and really wants to help me all the time :) his heart is truly a reflection of God's love for us and really it overwhelms me sometimes.
Hope to see you all soon!!!
Love- Michelle
