Free!!! Almost....

Hello Loved Ones and blog followers :)

I got to see my lovely OB today- Dr. Zaid, after running more tests it looks as though the antibiotics are having some affect and the infection is starting to clear. She gave me the option to go home today (despite the 72 hour rule) or go home tomorrow- I said TODAY of course :) it will be nice to be home!!!

What they found:
  1. They still dont know exactly what kind of bacteria is causing this so they are treating with the most broad range antibiotics possible, they have their hands tied as to what they can use due to the baby.
  2. I am anemic (weird because they tested for it a couple weeks ago and I wasnt?) nothing serious just can cause lack of energy sometimes, its really low so I will be taking some vitamins when I get home, nothing serious again more of a FYI... It wont hurt the baby
  3. They did a FFN test (dont know the medical term??) but basically they tested me- wont go into details- and can determine from this test that I have a 80% chance of NOT going into labor in the next 2 weeks!!! yea!!! thats an amazing answer to prayer!! They were a little worried this morning because I was having contractions but now Im good to go (as Scott would say). Basically this is quite reassuring- they baby is staying put for awhile!! 34 weeks is the latest they can run this test so, no telling the future after that but GOOD NEWS!!!!!
  4. I have had 2 IVS, 4 blood tests, multiple monitorings and am so done with this for awhile!! LOL.. Brett was very sweet and held my hand through quite a few of them (but did NOT want to watch lOL :) )

Overall the kidney thing seems to be clearing up and our spirits are good- it will be wonderful to go home with my husband in a little bit and just be home!! Grandma Myers flys in on Saturday so I will have a wonderful helper- God provided her right at the perfect time!!!!

No bed rest at this time, she just said try to lay as low as possible (Grandma probably wont let me do much of anything LOL so dont worry about that!!- she will probably have to hear it direct from the Dr before SHE takes me off bed rest)

OVERALL

Thank you for your prayers, love and support! Im sorry if I havent returned many phone calls, theres not great service here and Ive been resting a whole lot, Ive been so tired and combined with the pain medication (makes me SUPER loopy!) they give me and the constant monitoring all night I havent gotten a good nights rest yet so Im kinda drained. I will keep updating the blog though as time goes on and hope to call you all back this week as soon as I get a good nights sleep!!!

We are so blessed for great friends and family like you all!!

Just a little note- when it comes to really REALLY important stuff like hospitalizations and baby being born Ive developed a sort of "phone tree" where we will call one person and have that person pass on the news so that we can get urgent news out when we dont have a lot of time- heres the plan:

If something happens we will call (Grandma will be with us):

  • Sherrie Bayer: to inform Bretts brothers and sister, the Bayers, Thedas and corresponding people (she can designate as she wills)
  • Brenda Myers: to inform my brother and sisters, Grandma Myers family (sisters, brothers, sons), and corresponding people
  • Ronnie or Theresa Robinson: to inform Robby grandparents, and half of Mound Valley LOL... just kidding Dad!! I know half of Mound valley will know without anyone calling them :)
  • Facebook: this is for friends, we will probably post a status update, something like "urgent update" and thats your cue to check out the blog as we will hopefully have posted with more details
  • Close friends: not sure on this?? If someone wants to volunteer then we will take it but if not we will probably just do the facebook thing....

Just make sure if youre in those groups that the right people have your phone numbers so they can get the word out and once we get to a place where we can call text etc we will!! :)

Right now still in the hospital waiting on my handsome prince (Brett) to come on his noble steed (Ford Mustang) to take me to our castle (646 sumner way... lol..)...

Love you all!!

The much better feeling- Michelle

Hospital Day 2

Happy Sunday Everyone!!
I apologize if this entry is misspelled or uses bad grammer- I am writing it (brett did last one) and the nurse JUST gave me some Stadol?? (SP) which is a pain reliever that makes me just a little woozy.... lol... Brett will get this joke

Update from our front:

I will get released 72 hours from last fever

Fever is 100.4 or higher.. these numbers are VERY important

Last time I ran a fever was yesterday at 4pm... woo!

So- they just look my temp a second ago- 100.2 but NO fever, which means timer doesnt restart, thats good news. They took it a second time and it was 99.1 so goin in the right direction!!!

The baby is very kicky and strong!!! Praise God!!! Every time they try to do monitoring on me-thats where they put little sensors on my stomach- she does sommersaults and kicks and its hard for them!! LOL shes already fun! The pain is getting better in the kidney area- that may be the drugs talking lol... They still do the IV when i get any antibiotics but they stopped the other fluids, I can eat and drink anything I want, however my stomachs still pretty upset so nothing looks great at this point. The nurses said that the baby will take whats she needs from my body even if I dont eat- which is great since I havent really had an appetite for about a week now.

Overall - we are hoping to be out by Tuesday at the latest. The OB who visited (not my actual OB but one in her practice) said if we arent out by Tuesday ish they will talk about putting a kidney stent in- yuk! Really hoping that wont be the case.

Brett has been GREAT! I sent him home last night so he could actually sleep... The night before we both crammed ourselves in the hospital bed- lol..... we slept but wouldnt reccomend it for mutiple nights, he really needs his rest for work and for me (so he can be well rested when I beat him a cribbage!!). Its so nice to have him, he is a wonderful comfort just to have him setting by, he actually sets on the bed with me most the day and I love it!! Its like the most ultimate cuddle time whenever I want it :), well until he goes to work Monday. A girl friend- I made up here is supposed to stop by (Danielle) and visit, it will be nice to have a guest and a much needed distraction.

Anyways my eyes are closing- medicene and restless nights taking hold! ahhhhhhhhh... lol

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Michelle

Just an Update

Hi! Great to see everyone! This is Brett. On Friday, Michelle flew back from Memphis and got back safely into San Diego. She was seated between two 400 lb women, so the nice stewardess moved her to 1st class(she will tell you all the details later). I got home from work and took her to the Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, room 105. I could tell she was running a fever and felt really hot. Traffic was bad on the 5(the major highway here), but we made it.

Through an IV, she got some anti-nausea drugs, anti-biotics, and pain killers. She has lots of pain from a kidney infection, mostly on the right side. We spent the night at the hospital and the night nurse was really nice. She and Michelle are almost BFF(that is Best Friends Forever). Michelle wants to set her up with Scott, my Marine brother who lives out here. Too bad he deploys in a few weeks. :(

After an ultrasound and a visit by Michelle's OBGYN, we were told that she has a severe kidney infection and will have an off and on fever with chills for a few days. She will be staying at the hospital until she goes 72 hours without a spike in her temperature. The major problem is that Michelle's blood pressure spikes high when she has a fever and consequently that causes the baby's blood pressure to spike.

She will be here at least until Tuesday night. Fortunately, there is a TV in the room so we can watch the Baby channel or the Little League World Series (a local CA team won this year).

Please pray for Michelle's health, her kidney infection, and the health of the baby.

Its gettin hot out there!!

Well I made it to Memphis and its been a CRAZY last few days!!!

I got to do a walk through with the insurance people and the demolition people- the house is basically bare bones on the inside upstairs right now but I really think Gods going to turn this disaster into a blessing- with a little imagination you can see the potential it has.

Im staying with Tracy and Julie and their two dogs, Bretts old roommate and his wife- they are WONDERFUL! We went out to dinner tonight to say thank you for the accomodations and to celebrate Tracys birthday- Fresh Slices in Memphis, pretty good sandwich shop if you ever get a chance to stop by.

Last night I had an AMAZING dinner with my Mom, her finacee James/Jim and my friend Sarah at the Melting Pot to celebrate their engagement and my birthday (lots of celebrations this week!!!). I got to spend some time with my Mom and James and he is great!! I am very happy for them and am so happy they are seeking God first in their relationship. I cant wait to go to the wedding- he is going to be a very positive influence in her life. They took a bike trip up here just to help me out and see my fat pregnant belly!! lol :) They were such a huge huge help and blessing (along with my awesome realator Lee)- I couldnt have done it without them.

I got to spend some quality time today with my friend Sara and her very cute sweet baby Jaxson!! It was so fun and Jaxson is a riot, so funny and always laughing at everything, gosh I just love that boy... too cute....

Tomorrow I meet with a man about the vending business, we are praying hard that God will provide his hand in this and we will accept his will whatever it may be. Really overall this has been a VERY productive, tiring and fun trip and God has been so good. I can tell you that I WONT miss the mosquitos though!! lol They have had a great time dining on my legs and feet... Im ready to head back to Cali, the land of cool breezes and no bugs!!! lol

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support.. love you all!!

Memphis.. I have arrived..

Hello All!
I have arrived in Memphis!! I flew direct from San Diego so thankfully no layovers- set next to some really nice people after I switched seats with a wife so she could set by her husband (turned out the seat I switched too had AWESOME leg room!!). Im staying at Tracy and Julies house, Bretts old roommate, they have been so generous to put this pregnant woman up :) and the company is fantastic.

Before I left Sue and Christie Myers, my cousin and aunt came to visit as they drove through to take Christie to Pepperdine for college- it was so great to see them!! Laughter is the best mediciene and I had some great laughs. It will be so nice to have Christie closer and hope the rest of the Myer's will visit a LOT!! I love them so much...

Tomorrow I do a walk through of the house with the realator, then insurance person and demo guy... Ive already seen the damage though and its pretty extensive... wow.... I can see what it will look like in the future and that makes me VERY optimistic.. I think God could really turn this into a blessing but it is going to be a LONG road... lots of rehab to be done and I think 4-5 months is a conservative estimate on how long it will truly take..

After I got here I started having some kidney issues again but now know the drill so can avoid the hospital (thankfully). Pray for our health (me and baby Bayer) and some divine stress relief while we handle this very stressful business- vending business is still a huge concern for us as well but we are meeting with a buyer this week as well.

I fly back Friday morning to Cali and my wonderful husband- I miss him already but am happy I will get to see my Mom and new finacee tomorrow.. wow!

Love you all!! and come visit (once I get

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARY THEDA!!

I forgot!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARY THEDA :) He's Bretts uncle and lives over in fun Germany!! Happy Birthday to you!!!!! Hope we can visit someday and visit you and Susan. :)
Love our German Bayers- Happy Birthday!!!

Michelle and Brett

Walkin in Memphis.....

Well MAYBE not walking in Memphis yet- but could possibly be as soon as Monday.

The demolition of the Memphis house continues and Brett and I feel that I really should go back and make sure its completely done so that we don't have to deal with mold later, plus take care of vending stuff, van stuff, etc etc.. the list goes on and on and on. I go the OB later today to get the OK. I am 32 weeks now and will be 33 next week, they really don't want pregnant women flying after 34 week so I'm cutting it CLOSE!!!!

I will also **hopefully** be meeting with the lawyer to get some wise council regarding roof repairs and financial responsibility.

Scott- Bretts brother, comes back Friday and will be packing up and moving the majority of his stuff into our garage and wherever else we can fit, to get ready for his deployment, which means I need to reorganize the garage and try to compact everything into smaller and smaller spaces... whew.. Its kinda like a giant game of Tetris- thankfully he doesnt have a whole lot. :)

****************I need email addresses!! Of people you think may want to be updated whenever I post on the blog, just email me ms.micheller@gmail.com or leave a comment at the end of the blog

***************I need a picture of you that I can print off (I will turn them black and white) and laminate for the baby- newborns love pictures of faces especially our loved ones :) So email away!! The picture preferrably would be of your face (dont need body or anything as they really respond to faces) so when she visits she will know you!!!

So today ultrasound of kidneys (yea!) and OB visit!! woooo... 2 dr office visits in 1 day?? I know.. Im sooooooo lucky!!!

Brett is doing well- working ALOT which is good :) hes doing well on all his tests really, the one we had problems with the whole class is retaking this week which is awesome!

THE BIG TEST IS SEPTEMBER 9th... big day of prayer...

Sue and Christie (my aunt and cousin from Texas) arrive this weekend!! They are stopping through as they move Christie to Pepperdine to go to college- we are SOOOOO proud of her!! They will probably stay with us Sunday night on their way through- it will be so good to see them!!! And it will be GREAT to have Christie close, she is welcome any time!!! We cant wait.... They are some of my most favorite people in the whole world!!!!

Whew!! Thats our update!!
Love you all!!
Come visit soon!!!!

News from the Cali Front!!

Hello All!

Baby Bayer "Little Angel" had another ultrasound yesterday to rule out Tetrology of the Fallot and GOOD NEWS!! Dr says 70-80% chance theres nothing wrong, they cant do 100% because its just not possible to guarentee anything but the heart looks good :)

Shes weighing in at 3 lbs 14 oz NOW!!!!! WOW!! Shes right in the 50th percentile which is perfect, not too big not too small and right on schedule to arrive mid-October.

Her stomach is still measuring large (95th percentile) but it is probably nothing and REALLY they dont know how Brett can eat :) I think all the Bayer boys have a big tummy :) They want us to come back in for another look in about 3 weeks, which will be fun because Grandma Myers (Arlene- my grandma) will be here by then!!! :) and it will be fun to show her the new technology they have now..

While during the ultrasound they took some 4-D photos of the Little Angel you can really see her cute little face and she has HAIR!! They saw it but I couldnt, its still pretty exciting :) Im going to post some of the pics on here today :)

The clothes have been flowing in for the Little Angel, a BIG thank you to Sherrie, Janis and Grandma Betty :) They sent the CUTEST CLOTHES!!!! Shes already well dressed and not even born yet!!! To be Grandma Theresa also sent some really really cute little fashionista outfits that we cant wait to parade. Thank you all for the thoughtful gifts- look for pictures in the future of the little one stylin' them for you :)
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

PRAISE on the good baby report (shes no longer breech also!) God is so good!
The vending business is still in the works, we are trying to get it sold before the baby comes- please pray for us for wisdom and discernment, and for the roof repairs and legal proceedings in Memphis.

Love you all! Come visit soon!

A California Bayer Family Update :) and some Prayer Requests

Whew!
It has been too long since we updated so here you go!!

The house:
We are ALL moved in to our nice little townhome :) we love it and are happy to be unpacked and just settling in right now. We had our FIRST official visitors! Bing, Sherrie and Ryan flew down last week to spend a few days visiting us and Scott, I hope to post some pictures once Bing "facebooks" them, we didnt get any pictures but he took plenty so we are looking forward to seeing them and will share them here. It was nice to spend time with the Bayer family, Scott and Ryan are so fun and CRAZY when they get together, it was a real family atmosphere- lots of cribbage, games, laughing, inflatable beds collapsing, food, and adventures. While they were here Bing, Sherrie and Ryan got to see where Scott works on Camp Pendleton and drove past where Brett works (the security level is so high we cant go on the plant to visit). They also got to go to the San Diego Zoo, eat on the pier with the WHOLE group, see the ocean, see the BABY via ultrasound, celebrate my birthday, go to a farmers market/fair in downtown Oceanside, and we all got to go to a Padres game which was a blast!!! Sherrie and I shared baby stuff, she gave me tons of good advice and the boys watched the game.

I hope to post some pics of the new house so you can see the "work in progress" as Brett and I decorate :) (he's excited... really.. lol)

Some discouraging news on the Memphis home front, it turns the roofers who installed the new roof failed to correctly install the flashing which caused about 50-60,000$ of water damage!! YIKES!! Thankfully Brett has a great homeowners insurance policy and they started demolition last week and will finish this week. They hope to have an estimate of the damage total value by the end of next week and then we choose our contractor :). They think the repairs may take about 4-5 months and then we hope to place the house on the market- big prayers on this front!! God has been SO good to bless us with a great insurance company and protect us from some of the stress.

The BABY!!
We have a NAME and it is......................
hahaha SORRY!!! No name release yet :) We are keeping it secret until her big day and then will announce it to everyone! We want to keep you all on the edge of your seats, that, and it MAY change..

Some hints:
1. Its female... lol.. cause its a GIRL!
2. Its VERY rare- so prepare yourself if you wanted a traditional name :) its very pretty
3. Its not after any family member (although her middle name will probably be Arlene after me, my mom and my grandma- 4th Gen Arlene!!)
4. You probably wouldnt ever EVER guess it and probably dont know anyone with this name, its one of the rarest names in the book! lol :)

She seems to be doing great!!! At the ultrasound last they estimated her weight at 3 pounds 2 ounces!! WOW!!!

Prayer- MONDAY Aug 17 I go in for a Fetal Echocardiogram to check her heart to make sure she doesnt have Tetraology of the Fallot (blue baby syndrome like my niece Chloe). They checked her out but want to do a follow up to make sure. Also her stomach seemed a little big to them so they will check that too (they MUST not know her Dad and how he can eat :) ) I will post an update so everyone will know.

Other than that shes been kickin and movin!! Her Daddy thinks she likes kickboxing and I probably have to agree! Grammy Bayer put up the border in her nursery while she was here and it looks great... slowly its starting to look like a babys room!

Grandma Myers flys in SEPTEMBER 5th!! The due date has been moved up to Oct 18 so she wanted to make sure she will be here extra early and we are REALLY excited to have her here!

US:
Brett likes his new job and has been doing really well on his tests, he's working hard and learning alot, so far he's enjoying all the new challenges. September 9th is his BIG test for the first quarter so we will be praying extra hard that day!! He loves the hammock in the little back yard (and I do mean little), playing with the kitties.

Me: getting unpacked was a challenge but is mostly over now. Ive be struggling with some kidneys issues and unfortunately have had a UTI for about a month and a half now, thankfully I believe I have a good set of Doctors now who care about me and the baby. Our OB is Dr. Zaid and she is FANTASTIC!! Really gives us attention and follows up on problems that we have (which thankfully are few). The baby is getting big so sleeping is harder, lol, along with walking, breathing, eating.. lol... really I think the anticipation of her coming is the hardest part- we are SO excited to meet her and see what she looks like!!
The kidney thing hopefully will be resolved soon.. I will keep you all updated!!

We found a church we really like called North Coast and are getting plugged in :)

WOW!! I will try to update more so it wont be so long next time!! :) Look for pictures sometime soon hopefully!!

Love you all! Come visit!! Let us know your prayer requests as well and THANK you for all your prayers!!

Love
Brett, Michelle and.............
