Christmas Letter 2010

Dear Family and Friends,
As you can see it's been awhile since we've updated the blog, that probably shows you how incredibly busy we've been lately!! :) Well along with all the busyness, we've experienced a roller coaster of a year, with many ups, a few downs and even a couple twists and turns, but at the end of the ride we are so thankful to have each other and the many blessings of family and friends that God has given us.

Brett
Brett continues to work for Southern California Edison, in this last year he transferred from the training department to operations (YAY!) and was selected to begin the Senior Reactor Operator training program (double YAY!). He is doing very well in the program, however it can be demanding at times with the swing shifts (some day’s nights 6pm - 6am) and rigorous testing. He spends any spare time he has playing with Ari and teaching her new words, it's amazing how he can teach her something so quickly- he is her favorite teacher and best friend. She knows when Daddy shows up its time to PLAY! Brett continues his interest in stocks and investing and does an excellent job of managing our retirement and helping others.

Michelle
Well I have to say being a Mom is a full time job, I'm constantly impressed with Moms with multiple children (like my Mother-4, and Brett's Mom-4 as well), their sacrifices and hard work make it hard to complain with my one little one, even on the roughest day. I can honestly say I LOVE my job and that I have the best bonuses of sloppy baby kisses and an occasional REAL hug! In the last year I started a money saving-freebie blog (http://aordinarymommy.blogspot.com/), joined and help start a Mommy's group for Moms in my area, got a Cricut die cut machine that I love (not a scrap booker YET), and continue to take a TON of photos. This week I will actually get to display my photos for the first time in a local businesses lobby. I've made MANY wonderful Mommy friends in this last year, I am very blessed and thankful for the strong support group that has developed, it REALLY helps if Brett has long hours or Ari is sick, their kindness and caring reminds me daily of Christ's love for us and how great it can be.

Ariella

This is what you REALLY are looking for right? Ariella (or Ari, as we call her) is constantly changing, growing and learning new things. Her interests include long walks to the mailbox (she can walk YAY!), reading (mostly board books and ANYTHING with a cat "meow" or dog "gog" in it), and animals (BIG favorite is "gogs" followed by "meows" if she can catch them). As you can tell this little one is TALKING, so so so much, she says "gog", "meow", "heddo" for hello, "papa", "dada", "momma", "bobble" for bottle, "book", "Elmo", "ug" for hug, "uppie" for open, and the list goes on. She celebrated her first birthday in October and celebrated with a REAL Elmo, 2 chocolate fountains and an apple cider fountain (all borrowed), it was incredible to say the least and we've both been cured of the desire for big birthday parties!! :) Ari's is cutting teeth very very slowly, but that doesn't stop her from eating anything she wants. This little one had inherited my love people and can make friends with anyone she meets, when she gets impatient while shopping I just walk by a crowd and she's happy making strangers into part of her fan club- she's VERY easy to love.

Unfortunately it hasn't been completely sunshine and roses this last year, Ari was hospitalized in November for dehydration from some stomach bug, followed quickly by a double ear infection which has proven resistant to all antibiotics. We've also found out that she had bilateral urinary reflux which makes her susceptible to urinary tract infections which we've had our fair share of in the last year. She's currently on maintenance antibiotics that she will continue to be on until she grows out of it or has surgery to fix the reflux. We are hoping growing out of it will happen sooner. Please keep her health in your prayers. Brett and I both lost grandfathers in the last year with my grandfather passed away in March and Brett's grandfather passed away in November. We miss them so much, but are thankful Ari had the chance to meet them both. I fell down some stairs and injured my ankle in October and continue to do physical therapy. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it could have been and Ari was safe (she was in my arms when I fell).

Brett's brother Scott was living with us up until September when he was deployed to Afghanistan. Please keep him in your prayers as well as he plans to return in March and stay with us. Ari's excited to see "Unca Scott" again. My mother and step father moved in October to a RV resort about an hour from where we live. It's so nice to have them closer and they LOVE the California weather. They say if we ever move they will stay.

Well that is about all the rollercoaster for now, I promised to post to this blog at least once a month going forward so you can keep updated with the events as they happen :).

Love and Best Wishes for the Holiday Season!!

Brett, Michelle, and Ariella

I LOVE mystery shopping.. but unfortunately so does my thighs..

If I havent told you lately, mystery shopping is the best!!! We've been doing it almost 2 years now and love love love it!
What is this you speak of??
WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Mystery shopping is basically going into businesses and secretly rating their customer service, food quality, cleanliness, ect.... For the person who ALWAYS has an opinion (what?? me??? noooooooooo) its perfect, you know your feedback is actually used plus you get FREE food and paid?? sounds great right? whats the catch?
none
nope
no
negative
there isnt a catch! For the REAL companies its FREE to sign up and after a while they start calling you! Thats right, about 2 times a week I get calls to do shops, not too bad!

Heres some fun things we've done:
stayed in a hotel for FREE plus paid
Went to an amusement park for FREE plus pay
pizza, movies, fast food, drain cleaner (LOL- sometimes you're required to make a purchase), movie rentals, the list goes on and on...

Its fun to go out with Brett and know that we're eating, but its free and we both enjoy rating our service- Brett is QUITE the food critic, imagine that?? ;)

Tonight we went to a casual dining restaurant, spent $30 reimbursed on food, plus got paid $13.. it was a fun night... If you're interested in getting in on the action email me, post a comment, anything and I will hook you up with a referral!

I cant name the places we've done because its against mystery shopping law, but trust me its YUMMY!

In other news, we are probably joining 24 hour fitness very very soon... that or stroller strides for me- any opinions on either thing?

Hello old friends....

Well its been WAY way too long since I updated, I thought once Ari was out of newborn-hood that I would have more time on my hands.. WRONG!! LOL! With more joys, comes more challenges and as a result.. less less less time....

Today I am thanking God for the cool weather, we got back from a family trip on Wednesday and it was HOT here (85 is not hot I know, but for here its miserable!), the worst part was the heat didn't let up too much at night which doesnt make for sound sleeping babies :(- throw in teething and a VERY dirty house and you've got a recipe for a headache. Thankfully today I was able to do some cleaning, the heat is breaking tonight (Ari's room temp is 78 but it feels much much cooler)and we are making it through the teething process.

So I mentioned a family trip, heres an overview- Ari and I flew into Tulsa OK July 25(yes our little one is a frequent flyer- this should be her 7th flight?) then stayed at my Dads for a week. Jen came up one weekend and we got to spend time with her very VERY sweet boyfriend Josh, she'd probably kill me for this but I think there may be another wedding in the next 5 years ;).

Brett flew in July 2nd to Tulsa and Jennifer, Ari and I met him at my Aunt Annas house, stayed the night, then the whole group of us including my Uncle Donnie, Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Jane, headed to Lake Texoma. Quite a roadtrip!! We arrived at the lake and spent the weekend of the 4th at the Tanglewood resort and lounging on my Uncle Neals yayght (I feel pretentious saying that, but it really is a yacht and quite amazing at that). We met some new friends of Neals and got to see my cousin Alex, shes such a beautiful girl and her and Jen had a lot of fun on jet skis! Too soon we weekend ended and we road tripped back to Kansas then on to Bolivar Missouri to see Bretts parents.

HEres some pics from the lake:

4th of July Texoma

Just a day to rest there and see our favorite Gramma Betty before we took another road trip across Kansas to Colorado! 4 adults, 1 baby, enough food for a week all in 1 highlander??!! We did amazing- plus pulling Sherrie and Bings pop-up!! It was quite a trip and Ari did fantastic. We arrived at Aunt Janice (bretts aunts) house in Colorado springs and basically fell out of the car and straight asleep! LOL We got to see the court adoption process for Nathan and Michael (Danny and Angie, Bretts aunt and uncle's little boys) and spend some time in lovely Colorado Springs, including a Rockies game! It wasnt too friendly for a few Padres, but we had fun, and it was Ari's first, she really enjoyed it.

Our convoy continued to grow as we went to Turquoise Lake Colorado- now we had:
2 pop-ups
Danny uncle
Angie aunt
micheal and nathan- baby counsins
Janice aunt
Dania cousin
Sherrie and Bing - bretts parents
Ari - our baby of course :)
Me and Brett
and
2 friends of Danny and Angie!!
TRUE MADNESS and LOTS of fun!!! To add to all this my wonderful Aunt Sue, Uncle John and cousins Christie and Michael joined us- although they stayed at the hostel in Leadville (AWESOME- a must see). We had lots of fun, Colorado is truly beautiful, my uncle John mentioned that he thinks Heaven looks like Earth and I truly hope so, mainly colorado, its so beautiful. We went hiking with the amazing Danny, saw some gorgeous mountains, ate some delicious food at camp (not so rough after all!), braved mosquito's, went white water rafting and all together had a fantastic time! It was good to come home, we are still recovering! :)

People updates:

Ari: 9 months now! can you believe it? No crawling yet, but sits well and reaches. She still loves the water, eating people food, clapping and starting to really wave. Everything is DADADAD or Dis or Dat LOL! I realize we ask her is she wants "this" when we hand her an object, now when she wants something she reaches for it saying "dis dis" or "dat dat" LOL!! ohh my cuteness.... Teething has struck and we are in the midst of some sleepless nights... She had another kidney infection right before we left but has been infection free through all this travel THANK GOD!!! She is a blessing from God and is truly becoming her Lioness of God namesake (and to think I was worried she wouldnt talk??!!??) Pray for us as parents that we may raise her in the way God chooses.

Brett: Wonderful as always! He's facing some pretty crossroads right now as we wait to see if he will be selected for the new SRO class. As some may remember he chose not to go in the first one so he could be there for Ari's first year, now we're not even sure if he will get into this upcoming class. If not then he may get a SRO certificate versus a license, but thats only temporary and will still pursue the license even if that means a move :(. Pray for him and his walk, theres some big decisions coming up that only God can help us with.

Me: Well everything's the same pretty much.. I love my baby and my husband and love this life! California has great weather overall (ask me again in August) and I joined a Moms group via Meetup.com that I REALLY LOVE! I host a music and rhythm playgroup in my house every other week where we sing songs with the babies. I will probably be joining MOPS this semester at our church and am applying at our church's new preschool to work part time, the income would be GREAT and would allow Ari to socialize which she REALLY loves... Im still experimenting with homemaking and all that entails and it seems my list is never done :).

Well I better stop rambling.. Im sure most of you are sleeping by now as I shoud be!!

Love you all! Come visit soon, we can't ever have enough guests!

Love

Happy 1/2 Birthday Ari!!

Ok so on a lighter note everyones favorite little girl is 6 months old today!!
Happy 1/2 Birthday Ari!! I made her a 1/2 cake, and sang happy 1/2 birthday to her over a yummy dinner of pureed squash (for her) ribs (for me) and salad (for Brett).

We actually didt get a chance to experience the cake, we got ome a little late from the doctors office. A couple weeks ago I noticed that Ari was fussier than usual, REALLY fussy and whining all the time, so after some consultation of vetern Mom's (thanks Mom and Sherrie) I decided to take her in, and it turns out she had a UTI!!! Another UTI (urinary tract infection). They sent off a culture, prescribed me some antibiotics and send us on our way... Well things only got worse in the Ari department until she was so bad today she wouldn't let me our of her sight... I was soooo frustrated!! I decided to make a pest of myself at the doctors office and found out- her UTI is resistant to the antibiotic they prescribed!! In fact its resistant to almost every kind of antibiotic, soooo in we went for Rochepin (sp?) shots. We will have to get them for the next 2 days :( poor baby!!

Thankfully the shots seem to be working (if not its off to the hospital- YIKES!) once we got home and she woke up from a nap she ate 2 containers of baby food!!! And then ate 3 oz of formula :) Which makes me happy, she really hadnt eaten anything all day!! Praise God this is figured out!

We have had a wonderful last few weeks, Bretts Mom Sherrie came to visit for a couple days and so did one of my best friends Cheryl. While they were here Ari had her dedication, and we got to spend the day exploring San Diego!! FUN!! We did the Old Town Trolley Tours and a cruise through the bay :). The next weekend Cheryl came back (she was at a conference in San Diego) and we went to the flower fields, it was GORGEOUS!

Well this post is getting longer than expected :) check out the links below for more pics

COMING SOON: This weekend we are going to do a fun secret shop at a family center-lazer tag, go karts, you name it! Scott comes back from deployment the 13th and Ari and I fly home May 22-April 6!! WOW!!

Pooping Tiger, Peek-A- Boo Dragon likes to Accessorize..

Well this is probably my strangest title yet.. LOL.. Let me explain..

If you know my husband at all you know he LOVE LOVE LOVES to give people nicknames (Baseball for brother Matt, Yapper for brother Scott, you get the idea) well he decided that Ari needed an Indian name to go with her many nicknames (slice, baby doll, sweetie, little angel), so first he thought Farting Moose was appropriate...(he blames her antibiotics) That quickly changed to Pooping Tiger Peek-A-Boo Dragon.. Im hoping he forgets it before her teen years, thats all I can wish- I did find it quite funny...

As for the accessorize part, Ari is now the proud owner of her first necklace!! Our little sweet baby has dove into teething (I thought before was bad.. oh no..) and I have been at my wits end trying to find something to ease her pain. I use hylands homeopathic teething tablets, tylenol, and "GASP" even resorted to Oragel, however not much helps and I hate to give her drugs. SOOOO after many recommendations (thanks Lindsay) I drove to a baby boutique in Encinitas and purchased a Baltic Amber teething necklace, its pretty cute on her I must say. I havent noticed an improvement yet, but they say it takes a couple days, Ill keep you posted.. In the meantime our little Angel is pretty cute!!

Some news, saw the pediatric urologist today- Ari has urinary reflux level 3, but may resolve itself on its own without surgery-keep praying for that! In the meantime we will have to keep her on antibiotics for at least until shes a year old (grows out of it) or until the surgery is done, hope she likes the antibiotics!!!

We just found out my little sis made it to Nationals in track!!! She broke the school record, tied the meet record and qualified all in the the same jump.. WOW! So Nana and Papa Jim generously offered to fly Ari and I out to Alburquerque to see Jen jump (and for grandparent time of course), then we will drive back to Oceanside with them just in time to welcome Grammy Bayer who flys in on the 19th!! YEA!!!! Should be so fun- I'll keep you posted on the results. We may even get to see Papi, Auntie Tiffany and Uncle Timmy while we're theres- wish we had Mimi !! :( Guess she'll just have to come visit!!

And finally, what you all waited for PICTURES!!!

Theres pictures of Ari in her dedication gown (she is getting dedicated at the church on March 21), pics of us trying our organic sweet peas on her (not a fan, but I thought everyone loved organic), and just some random cuteness!! ENJOY!!

No More Sick Days..

So i'm setting in the exam room at the pediatricians office so i thought i'd update really fast. The last day has been crazy it started normally ari was so cute, yelling at the kittys that i got out the camera and took a little video it was hilarious! We headed to san diego children's hospital later for what i thought would be uneventful tests. Ari had a vcug and kidney ultrasound done the ultrasound went great she flirted with the lady and was just her cute self, the lady was so taken with her that she brought her a bear! After that we had the vcug she screamed and cried and chokede through it and finally fell asleep. I thought that was the worst until we got home and she starteded spiking a fever groaning and shaking Brett and i quickly took her to the doctor i was worried she was having a reaction to the dye they used. Well by the time we got there she had perked up and they took some urine and determined she had a uti.
We went home and the nightmare began.
I started cooking dinner and Brett rocked Ari while we waited for her perscription to be filled, after I finished Brett went to go get the medicene while I held Ari for a little bit, almost immediately she started shaking and moaning again, this time much louder and more violently. Thankfully Brett chose that moment to walk in and held her while I called our Dr again- while on the phone Ari started violently puking again and again, I took her temp and it was up to 103, 104... As her temp started to climb I got pretty upset, thankfully BRett remained very cool under pressure. The Dr and our friend the EMT told us to put her in a room temperature bath and give her a dose of Motrin (baby ibprophen)- usually babies this age cant have it but they made an exception to help her out (I found out later they dont give it because it brings a fever down and can mask symptoms- they were sure she had a kidney infection so no need to diagnose).

Her fever came down a little 104, so I walked to CVS to get some baby Motrin and Pedialyte to rehydrate her (did I mention she was puking, shaking, and choking the whole time she was in the bath?? yea.. scary..). The walk gave me a chance to calm down a little and when I got back we made her a little bed on the living room floor (to keep our body heat from increasing her temp) and bathed her with cool cloths. About 30 minutes after the Motrin her fever started coming down and she stopped shaking and moaning- PRAISE GOD! By this time we had our whole Growth Group (thanks Nikki!!) praying for her along with our families. She was finally able to rest around midnight, and we laid her in bed between us, I got up every couple hours to offer her pedialyte (she still loves her "nectar"), monitor her temp and give her Tylenol.

In the morning the Dr gave her 2 shots of antibiotic and thankfully no fever since... Praise God for a calm and cool husband, a wonderful praying family and Growth Group and a wonderful little baby that makes every day better..

Love you all

Christmas... errr.. Valentines Day!!!

Hello Everyone!
We had a great Valentines weekend, Friday we went out as a family to Applebees (Bretts choice :) but Im happy!! we're eating out) Brett was excited about the 2 for 20 special and thats what we did- it was wayyyyyyyy to much food but delicious. Ari was a little angel like always, shes getting to the point now where she prefers to be out of the carseat and usually spends meals perched on my lap- everyone always stops and comments how cute she is!! I didnt realize how observant people are :). It helped that her new headbands arrived and she looked super cute with her big pink flower!!!

Valentines continued on Saturday, Brett had to work so Ari and I went to our friend Danielles house for a fun Pampered Chef party- we had a blast with the other kids and seeing some yummy recipes. When we came home Brett gave me my Valentine :) some really pretty potted pink Tulips, and a Reeces heart.. he knows the way to mine!! I got him some Hawaiian Host chocolates and steaks!! I know the way to his!! LOL

Sunday the Valentines giving continued, we had a wonderful message from our pastor then went to McDonalds on the pier for a mystery shop, it was so great to walk along the beach with my family. When we got home we found that Ari's Elmo puppet that we ordered and my new book arrived!!! I got the book called "The House that Cleans Itself" and Im pretty excited, its basically revamping your whole household with a lot of Christian principles, Ill keep you updated on that!

Later a woman stopped by with some clothes from Pendleton Yard Sales website, we got 2 HUGE bags for $30- theres TONS of stuff! Some is stained but there were quite a few things we liked and definately got our moneys worth- its so true taht one mans trash is anothers treasure, or in this case wardrobe! It feels like Christmas with all these fun things happening!!

Well better get some rest!!

Love

Ari's wish list... suggestions suggested ..LOL

Ok so here are some things that I THINK I need for Ari... What are your opinions? Are they neccessary or just fun?? Click on the name of the item for pics from amazon..

Pink Paci's: she has blue/green ones now, just another girlie thing to help those random strangers from calling her a boy.. plus... its cute!

Wubbanub: this was actually referred to me by a vetern Mom (Sarah Lyman), its a paci with a toy on the end so Ari will have something to hold onto to keep it in and play with- she has BUSY hands lately and it seems its all I can do to keep those hands from grabbing at her face or ripping the paci out, maybe the toy would help?? plus SUPER cute..

Paci Clip: Pretty sure this is a MUST HAVE, we got one from Target but it doesnt fit our Soothie pacifiers (ugg!!) and I cant seem to find any that actually fit Soothies...ugg... plus a teething paci?? does this help I wonder?? Something more to chew on I guess... couldnt hurt?

Jumperoo/Exersaucer combo: ok.. so we got a FREE Exersaucer and Jumperoo (thanks Camp Pendleton Yard Sales!) but after getting them home and cleaning them LITERALLY for hours, I realize JUST how much space they take up in our not so big place.. LOL.. So I want something that combines both worlds because Ari does really seem to like the Jumperoo (renamed Poop-er-roo for obvious reason, somehow it has conditioned her to poop every time shes in it.. LOL..) So I liked this one, mainly because of the musical piano and the fact that it folds flat for storage.. YES!!!

Giraffe Teether: this is HUGELY popular, and I can see why, theres lots of fun parts to knaw on for the little one, and she could actually HOLD it, is seems like all the teethers we have are too big for her little hands :( we keep trying though!!

Peacock: LOVE this because of the mouth shaped feathers :) Ari seems to love to eat her Pooh crinkle book, but its too big for her mouth so she gets REALLY frustrated..

Amber teething necklace: supposedly these necklaces lessen the pain of teething (actually had quite a few Mom swear by them), something about the amber touching the skin and releasing some sort of acid in the system that neutralizes pain?? Its worth a try, I HATE giving her meds.

Elmo puppet: shes an addict and just a book is not enough.. lol

Mystery shopping family are we!

Well things are proceeding as normal here, Ari is still not eating like she should be :( she just refuses formula and when she does drink its only 2 ounces at most... We have been giving her Pedialyte to keep her hydrated which she LOVES!! She wont drink formula but INHALES the pedialyte?? can someone please please PLEASE explain this?? We call her our little hummingbird and pedialyte her nectar because she just sucks it down!! Please keep praying that she will start eating the formula, I take her in for more shots on the 9th and will hopefully get some feedback on what I can do to get her to eat, they have stopped returning my calls about this problem, it seems they are as stumped as me.

Mystery shopping is AWESOME by the way, today I scheduled Brett a haircut (free of course and we get paid $14?? awesome..) and a pet checkup for Kisa or Princeton (paid $25), pretty fantastic!! Mystery shopping is creating a monster though LOL, now I only want to eat, watch a movie, or go places if I get to mystery shop!! LOL! Brett loves it of course because he gets to count McDonalds as a date!! How often do you get paid to go on dates?? lol.. we are happy!!

We are having visitors in March- Bretts Mom Sherrie is coming the 19-23 and one of my best friends Cheryl is coming around that time as well :) when it rains it pours!! I just wish it was spread out so I could savor it, lol, I just love visitors so much, especially two of my favorite people!! Scott, Bretts brother, is heading on his way back from deployment, we are hoping to see him around the beginning of April- he will live with us for a while and Im looking forward too it, hes great company and LOVES cookies (basically cooking in general). It will give me an excuse to cook, plus hes a great singer and Ari needs lots of singing!! We are hoping she will listen and learn from him and not us :) LOL we are pretty bad!! I think he will fall in love with Ari (hard not too) and will hopefully stay a long time.

Well heres some recent photos!! Some from today, Ari sitting in her Bumbo watching me clean- Kisa came and said hello to her- note her VERY wet shirt, after she drinks the pedialyte she drools a whole lot more, Brett showing off his Wii bowling high score (bragger)- enjoy the cuteness! Back to cleaning for me...

Rollin rollin Rollin!

YEP!! She did it!! Last night after our Panda Express Mystery shop date :) we were playing with Ari in the living room and I was showing Brett how she could REALLY push up and well.. she rolled over!!! YEA!!!! It REALLY scared her... lol.. she was shaking, but we did it again and she rolled right over!! She was NOT up for a third time, two was enough. Yea for Ari!!! On a not as good front she has really stopped eating much at all, I think the meds are making her sick to her stomach and her dihareea is getting worse :( poor little one!! She is taking it better though and not spitting it all all. Keep her appetite in your prayers, it makes her Mommy worry when she doesnt eat much, other than that shes in REALLY good spirits as always!!!

Love

Cloudy Days..

Well I would rather be writing better tidings than this, but this post finds us a little unwell in the Bayer household. Admist all this rainy weather, Ari hasn't been eating much lately (and her diapers smell sweet???!!?? not diabetes..and not MSUD) and I took her to the Dr Monday, it turns out she has a UTI!! Not fun... We took her back today and the urine looks much better but they are still going to keep her on antibiotics for 8 more days and then maintenance antibiotics until we get test results..

What tests you may ask? Well more NOT fun stuff, we have to get a renal ultrasound done on her (not so bad, just a ultrsound of the kidneys), and then a VCUG(google it)- thats the not fun one. I recently had one done to find out my kindey issues and lets just say its pretty uncomfortable. We have to schedule it for 3 weeks from today after this infection is hopefully gone. Ari woke us up at 4am this morning, and the Dr said she may start doing that, just catching up on her growth and eating. I hope so! I like sleep, but I rest better knowing my little one is well fed, shes still not eating like she was, and HATES the medicene- every time we give it to her she spits it out!! They said it tastes like bubblegum.. well that must be some nasty bubblegum then!! You should see her face!! We got some cute pics of her in her bath tonight- she loves to lick everything ... you will see!! LOL.. washcloths must taste good?? silly baby :)

Ive had a cold as well, thankfully it seems to be running its course quickly PRAISE GOD!! We can only have 1 person sick at a time in the household. I was feeling pretty miserable Tuesday though and really missed having family close, it reminded me of how GREAT I had it over Christmas when I got sick and my wonderful Mother-in-law took great care of me and Ari.. ahhh.. family....

They're still working on the house, hopefully.. THANK YOU for your prayers, I know I asked Sherrie (mom in law) to pray for Ari and I know God is answering them! Please keep her in your prayers as we try to figure out everything and get her back on track.

Brett is doing good, he got the promotion as a Qualified Machiene Operator and is teaching his first class this week, hes teaching a pre-class for his boss tomorrow just to show him what hes going to be doing. :) We are so proud of him!

As for me Im looking into joining some play groups, I really want to get Ari around other kids and babies, its so good for her social development, our church has MOPS (kinda expensive) but theres some free groups online...

Please pray for Haiti and our friends that are over there helping (especially Eric Johnson Navy helicopter pilot and his wife and kids while he is gone)

Anyways- hope this finds you all well!!
Love you!!

NOO!! Not a teenager already?? They grow up sooo fast!

Thursday was a night to remember, somehow I convinced Brett to go see the Twilight movie (really I just wanted out of the house with him:) ) so we loaded up the fam and went to the movies on Pendleton. I LOVE going there, 3$ to get in and concessions are CHEAP, its the only place I dont see the need to BYOC- bring your own candy, but with this trip I was a little apprehensive. I had NO idea how Ari would react to setting in a theater for hours...
well..
The little Angel proves her name once again!
She was asleep when we arrived but woke up after about 20 minutes, Brett sat her on his lap and the little lady just perched there ENTHRALLED in the movie!! The only break was when I had to take her to change her (lost the paper rock scissor challenge LOL!!) and then she was right back in the movie. At some points Brett tried to cover her eyes (boys had their shirts off!! oh nooo!!lol.. protective Daddy) and she would get angry and kick her little legs!! Towards the end she got tired and curled up in my arms and slept.. What a fun little baby!!

Friday we had an awesome dinner at our house with Kyle and Nikki from our church group- they are fun and it was great to see their new little guy Zane again. Saturday was low key, McDonalds and Blockbuster mystery shop :) and Sunday church and The Counter mystery shop!! Some yummy hamburgers there, and fun again with Kyle, Nikki and Zane :) Its so great to start to make friends and connect, it just takes soo long in a new place.

Brett got qualified as a machine operator by the way!! VERY EXCITING!!! We are so proud of him...

Hope you all are doing well!

hugs and kisses
Brett, Michelle and baby Ari

PS Ari has found her mouth (see pictures)!! Shes starting to put toys in it which is so neat for me! Just last week it seems like she found her hands.. things are moving so fast!

Awwww Shots!! :(

Well yesterday our little angel got the remainder of her 2 month shots :( not a fun time!! Especially since she was hungry before and fussy, lets just say TOTAL baby meltdown when the shots came, I thought it was just one but she had to have 2.. Poor baby!! She's not quite her happy self today and is still in pain around the areas. Can you believe that shes 3 1/2 months old now??? CRAZY!!

On another note Ari is 12 lbs 6 oz, 23 1/4 inches long (yes that is almost 2 feet!) and in the 75% for head and height and 50% for weight. As her Grammy says "she's going to be a model!!" :) well as her mother I would have to agree, shes one cute baby! Shes making more noises every day, she seems quieter than with her grandparents (guess they're more fun to talk too) but is still noisy. We went on a McDonalds secret shop on Monday and I was ordering and hear this NOISY baby, surely not my angel right?? LOL Imagine me surprise when I walk to the table and shes yelling at Brett!! LOL... so funny! She was in her carseat so I took her out and set her on my lap while we ate, she settled right down- just wanted to be in the mix!! Shes making the funniest face these days, she sucks her lower lip all the way in- its HILARIOUS!! I will try to catch it on camera.

Life is beginning to return to some type of normalcy, Im still trying to figure out how to balance a household and baby LOL- I admire any woman who does it, especially with MORE than 1 child.. My hat is off to you- and if you want to send some advice my way I will take it. My biggest struggle is how to play with her and still clean, organize, etc. How much stimulation do babies need at this age? Im still playing catch-up from when she was born and consider it a small miracle when I actually get 1 room done.

Brett is doing good at work, he just did a walk through with one of the guys at the plant and is on his way to be a qualified machine operator :)! Which is a promotion for him and makes him feel good to be moving forward. Brett has been an AMAZING help around the house, Sunday was a day of rest for me and Brett and Ari hung out all day. We had some friends over for game night and dinner Saturday and it was much needed :) and I am sooo thankful for him!!

PRAYER REQUEST:
They JUST started working on the house in Memphis, and as you can imagine the mortgage payments are causing quite a problem, please pray they will get it fixed soon, listed on the market soon and SOLD!! USAA helped cover a couple months of mortgage payments but now its caught up with us with all the delays.

We are still working on selling the business....

Anyways- hope all is well with everyone, and I hope to get some pictures up soon- just gotta find that camera in this mess!! LOL

Love you all!

Daddy Dressed Me...

Well, we enjoyed the long weekend home as a family- Brett "helped" me out by dressing Ari, as you can see. I asked him what made him think the outfit matched, he said theres pink on both and theres flowers- so there ya go!! LOL The picture really doesnt do the outfit justice, lets just say it definately doesnt match, but I appreciate the effort.

We all got home safely, unfortunately a unwanted guest tagged along- a cold! :( Ari has been congested for a couple weeks while we were in Missouri, we thought from the dry heat, but now I have it too. We think she's getting a little better but will probably take her to the doctor Monday to check her ears.

Brett starts work Monday and I will miss him, I got spoiled with all this time together and visiting people, it will be different to have a quiet house to myself. I miss everyone already, and hope everyone is well rested fr this new week and new year!!

Love
Brett, Michelle and Baby Ari (3 months and 1 week monday!!!)

Such a sweet baby!
